Who is covered by Kentucky’s workers’ compensation?
Workers’ compensation covers virtually all workers in the state. That includes minors, part-time workers, state and local government employees, seasonal and temporary workers, workers injured on the first day of the job, employees on probation before hiring, and companies with only one worker. Some classifications of independent contractors may also be eligible for benefits. Other workers’ compensation laws may cover federal workers and workers of some Federal contractors. Railroad workers and maritime employees may also be covered by other laws.
