Rick is a personal injury attorney based in Louisville, Kentucky. He represents injured individuals throughout the United States and helps them fight large insurance companies to obtain the compensation they deserve. As partner of Hessig & Pohl, Rick handles a wide variety of cases including personal injury, wrongful death, and criminal and family law.
Rick completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Louisville and earned a law degree from the Brandeis School of Law. Before becoming an attorney at Hessig & Pohl, Rick spent 20 years working as a private investigator for insurance companies. His experience as a professional investigator means he has an in-depth understanding of how insurance companies operate. Rick’s combined legal training and investigative skills provide a unique advantage for Hessig & Pohl clients. He knows how to thoroughly investigate a claim and locate witnesses or video evidence to help clients build their cases.
Outside of his law practice, Rick supports hardworking people through his volunteer work with sports leagues. Rick was raised in Fairdale, a small town on the outskirts of Louisville. His parents both worked in a factory at General Electric, and he grew up watching hardworking people give their all just to make ends meet. He believes that kids should not have to miss out on playing sports or other extracurricular activities due to financial difficulties.
Along with constantly keeping up with changes in the law, Rick is also an avid reader in his spare time. He finishes two to three books a month, usually related to the topics of health or personal growth.
